History
1990, Jomtien (Thailand), at conference which set out the Jomtien Declaration and Framework for Action. Expected to meet every 2 years throughout the 1990s. Mandate expired at the World Education Forum, Apr 2000, Dakar (Senegal), when leadership role of Education for All was given to B-XB3383 - UNESCO.
Aims
Promote the Jomtien programme of action; monitor progress; mobilize resources; forge partnerships at international, regional and national levels; carry out global advocacy for EFA in cooperation with media representatives, opinion leaders, voluntary associations, parliamentarians and National Commissions.
