1987, as an association of management development institutions, built upon an inter-regional project of B-XB2183 - ILO and E-XE3382 - UNDP and a group of leading management institutions and networks, and linked to ILO's management development programme. Became an independent international association in 1998. Registered in accordance with Belgian law.
Enhance enterprise performance on a worldwide basis; lead the global development of management thought and practice by promoting, linking and strengthening regional and national networks of management institutions; provide a forum to examine and shape management education and training worldwide; contribute to growth of management knowledge and practice both relevant and specific to each region's social and economic environment.
