The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

Founded

1981

History

1981, as a project under the D-XD4238 - Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM). Since 1 Jan 1987 became an institution with more independent status, but still under NMR. Ceased to exist, 1 Jan 1993, when merged with F-XF8187 - Nordic Genetic Resource Centre (NordGen).

Aims

Stimulate cooperation in plant breeding among Nordic countries; works for agro-geographical rather than national systems for varietal testing; coordinate variety identification, production of healthy propagules and standardization of analytical procedures.

Board, consisting of one governmental administrator and one plant breeding expert each from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden and one representative from Iceland.
