30 Mar 1948, Bogota, on adoption of the Charter of D-XD3030 - OAS. The Charter also stipulated that the executive body should be K-XE3692 - Inter-American Juridical Committee (IAJC), set up 1939 as 'Inter-American Committee on Neutrality'. Ceased to exist in accordance with the 1967 amendment to the Charter, the Protocol of Buenos Aires, adopted at 3rd Special Inter-American Conference, which named CJI as principal advisory juridical organ of OAS, this being confirmed in the 1985 Protocol of Cartagena de Indias.
