Founded 25 May 1991, Chiang Mai (Thailand), during the Consultation of Asian Theological Librarians organized by F-XF0812 - Programme for Theology and Cultures in Asia (PTCA).
Facilitate development and exchange of resources for theology in the Asian context; encourage and support formation of national theological library associations or networks, national depositories of Christian literature and union listings, directory of Asian theological libraries, guidelines, indexes, bibliographies etc for publication; promote cooperation among, and training of, theological librarians; develop an Asia-wide network of theological libraries.
