History

1974, within the framework of A-XA1710 - International Co-operative Alliance (ICA), as Advisory Group for International Training of Cooperators (AGITCOOP), following conclusions and recommendations of: ICA/UNESCO International Conference of Cooperative Education Leaders, 1970, Jongny-sur-Vevey (Switzerland); 3rd International Conference on Aid for Cooperatives in Developing Countries, Apr 1971, Loughborough (UK); 40th ICA International Cooperative Seminar, Sep 1971, Moscow (USSR); International Conference on Cooperative Education, Sep 1972, Warsaw (Poland). Name changed at 29th ICA Congress, 1988, Stockholm (Sweden), to International Co-operative Training and Education Committee (INCOTEC). Present name adopted Sep 1995. Also referred to as ICA Global HRD Committee. Ceased to exist as an individual committee.

Aims

Promote and support the initiation and furtherance of HRD programmes within cooperatives and cooperative organizations at global, regional, national and local levels, so as to enhance their social and economic effectiveness; serve as a flexible network linking all those engaged with HRD; further exchange of experience, materials and personnel among members; facilitate regional networking and bring regional networks into effective contact with each other.
