1969, when Jaque Chaurand, a former dancer, created a choreographic contest for the new dance, then called les Ballets pour Demain, in Bagnolet (France). Became international in 1988. Current name adopted in 1995, and the contest took place every 2 years. From 2002, became a festival (annual since 2003).
Organize international choreographic events; develop audiences, in particular in Seine-Saint-denis (France); promote choreographic arts and its forms of expression and innovation; encourage the recognition of choreographers as fully-fledged authors; stimulate the French and the international choreographic movement and the emergence of novel works.Available with paid subscription only.
