The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History
1973, by E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC). Activities now in abeyance while new consultative committee is being created. No recent activity reported since 1985.
Aims
Draw up and submit to the Commission all plans involving European Community cooperation in research and development; propose the most suitable type of community action, ranging from simple coordination of national activities to the initiation of joint research programmes; determine objectives and methods of Community cooperation with non-member countries or international organizations.
Structure
Committee of 21 members, including Commission experts, officials responsible for research policy in the member countries, and representatives of Community universities, industry and trade unions.
