The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

11 June 1984, Seoul (Korea Rep), on adoption of Founding Charter at Asia-Pacific Lawyers Symposium. Statutes amended: 10 Jan 1987; 11 Apr 1990.

Aims

Within the region: enhance status of the legal profession; foster relations, communication and exchange of ideas between lawyers and associations and organizations of lawyers; promote administration of justice, protection of human rights and maintenance of the rule of law; advance standards of legal education. Advance the science of jurisprudence in all its phases and promote the study and development of international law and comparative law.
