History
1976, as an experimental program, following a feasibility report published in 1976 by E-XE0390 - International Development Research Centre (IDRC), in collaboration with C-XC3023 - OECD. 'DEVINDEX' was first published in 1975, with input from Germany FR, Netherlands, Soviet Union, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Tunisia. Regional operations, mounted with IDRC's technical and financial support, included: PADIS-DEV, a component of U-XF4723 - Pan African Development Information System (PADIS), under the aegis of E-XE4174 - United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA); U-XF9816 - Caribbean Information System for Economic and Social Planning (CARISPLAN), a sub-system of U-XF2172 - Sistema de Información para la Planificación de América Latina y el Caribe (INFOPLAN), which operated through E-XE4175 - United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC); G-XG7787 - Marga Institute. Disbanded 1985.
