History
1994, Valletta (Malta), within the framework of D-XD0435 - Council of Europe (CE), by E-XE8838 - Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Mandated, inter alia, to work for the setting up of conventions against corruption. Ceased to exist 31 Dec 2002.
Aims
Concerns come under three main headings: (i) setting international standards, in the form of treaties or soft law, for the fight against corruption; (ii) elaborating a follow-up mechanism to implement undertakings in this field; (iii) initiating, organizing or promoting research projects, training programmes and the exchange of practical experiences, in the same area.
