1968

History

1968, following up the reorganized Institute of Asian Studies, founded in 1955. Centre absorbed, 1973 to 1979, by the 'Philippine Center for Advanced Studies' but reverted to original status through a Board of Regents decision at the 919th meeting.

Aims

Develop closer and broader contact with Asian peoples in the field of learning and scholarship; attain knowledge of Filipino national identity in relation to other nations through studies on various aspects of Asia.
