The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1972, Scheveningen (Netherlands), an International Pet Trade Committee having existed since 1963, The Hague (Netherlands). Ceased to exist 10 May 1992.

Aims

Stimulate establishment of national pet trade organizations; represent members on international level in matters concerning the trade; promote legal trade and fight illegal trade; stimulate national authorities to harmonize legislation and regulations on international level; ban trade in genuinely endangered species; ensure strict observation of regulations for international events.

Assists with individual requests, market figures and statistics. Research Department undertakes and develops market research. Livestock Fund safeguards essential activities with regard to livestock problems.
