1972, Scheveningen (Netherlands), an International Pet Trade Committee having existed since 1963, The Hague (Netherlands). Ceased to exist 10 May 1992.
Aims
Stimulate establishment of national pet trade organizations; represent members on international level in matters concerning the trade; promote legal trade and fight illegal trade; stimulate national authorities to harmonize legislation and regulations on international level; ban trade in genuinely endangered species; ensure strict observation of regulations for international events.
