History

Founded 1911. Statutes adopted 22 May 1911. Reconstituted 10 Apr 1921, as International Federation of Dog Breeders. Statutes revised May 2007, Acapulco (Mexico). Latest statutes adopted Aug 2018, Brussels (Belgium). Unofficially referred to in English as International Canine Federation. Previously also referred to as International Federation of Kennel Clubs. Registered in accordance with Belgian law.

Aims

Encourage and promote breeding, registration and use of pedigree dogs ensuring their functional health and physical features meet the standards set for each respective breed, enabling them to work and carry out different functions in accordance with the specific characteristics of their breed.
