1997, as Asian Center for Research on Remote Sensing (ACRoRS), jointly by F-XF4954 - Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and D-XD2452 - Asian Association on Remote Sensing (AARS), as a twin centre carrying out research and consultancy work. Current title adopted in 2004 when the 2 centres were combined. Also referred to as Geoinformatics Center of AIT.
