Founded following the First Symposium on NMR, 14-15 Oct 1983, Geneva, when it was decided to found a European NMR society. In 1984, and informal group of radiologists and physicists was organized with the common interest of founding the Society. Statutes prepared and ratified during first congress, autumn 1984, Geneva; amended continuously during following years. New statutes adopted in 1995 and 2003.
