Previously also referred to in Spanish and German as Instituto Internacional del Hierro y del Acero – Internationales Eisen- und Stahlinstitut. Current name adopted 6 Oct 2008. Statutes adopted 29 Jun 1977; amended: 1 Oct 1989, Berlin West (Germany FR); 6 Oct 1991, Montréal QC (Canada). Registered in accordance with Belgian law.
Act as the focal point for the steel industry; deliver analysis and drive global improvement initiatives; promote global market development opportunities; provide economic data and analysis; increase awareness; promote market competition that is free of government interventions.
