Confédération africain de boxe (CAB)
Founded 1960, as African Amateur Boxing Association (AABA) -- Association africaine de boxe amateur. Restructured, 4-6 Nov 1986, Yaoundé (Cameroon), on request of H-XE3304 - Supreme Council for Sport in Africa (SCSA) and under aegis of AIBA, to incorporate professional boxing activities of D-XJ9571 - African Boxing Union (ABU), which then ceased to exist. Incorporation approved and current name adopted at extraordinary meeting, 1987, Nairobi (Kenya). ABU split from ABC again, 1996 and was relaunched. A regional confederation of B-XB1156 - International Boxing Association (AIBA).
Cater to and run amateur and professional boxing in line with WBC rules; ensure that boxers are not exploited.
