The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1998, as European Federation of Open and Distance Learning. Registered in accordance with Belgian law.

Aims

Promote the use of technology based ODL applications and methodologies within the frame of the lifelong learning process of employees and job seekers; facilitate information exchange; facilitate development, demonstration, purchasing and selling of ODL products; support quality standards; provide coordination facilities at both national and European level; represent network members on European and worldwide forums; encourage development of further expertise and research in the area of technology based ODL.

Provides services to the benefit of professional organisations involved in the development, distribution and use of technology based ODL for employees and job seekers. Organizes and supports conferences, thematic seminars and exhibitions.
