The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

3 Sep 1990, as Centre for Peace Studies, Perth (CPS) -- Centre d'études sur la paix, Perth. Replaces U-XG0472 - Centre d'études régional du l'Océan Indien (CIORS). Subsequently changed title to Indian Ocean Centre for Peace Studies (IOCPS) -- Centre d'études de l'Océan Indien sur la paix. Re-established, 1995, under current title. Together with 'India Ocean Rim Business Forum (IORBF)' of D-XD7435 - Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) has taken over activities of U-XJ4530 - Indian Ocean Rim Consultative Business Network (IORCBN). Ceased to exist, 2000.

Aims

Provide policy advice for decision makers from both public and private sectors in Australia and elsewhere; support various processes of dialogue which seek to encourage cooperation amongst the states of the region.
