The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

July 1967, Paris (France), on adoption of Constitution by Constitutive Assembly. Registered in accordance with French law, 20 Dec 1972, Paris.

Aims

Enrich the French language, promote its influence and administer its resources; consider all problems involving the French language and its relations with other languages, including educational aspects.

Activities

Organizes symposia and conferences; maintains Institut de recherches interculturelles, including 'Château de la Bûcherie' conference centre in Saint-Cyr-en-Arthies (France); produces publications on terminology, linguistics, architecture, oral dialogue, agronomy, mechanics. Specific tasks carried out by scientific commissions. Instrumental in setting up: Formation postuniversitaire interculturelle (FPI). Offers 'Humblet Prize' (every 2 years) to encourage works concerning the French language in general, or concerning relations between French speaking people, their exchanges, their similarities and their common actions.
