Enrich the French language, promote its influence and administer its resources; consider all problems involving the French language and its relations with other languages, including educational aspects.Available with paid subscription only.
Organizes symposia and conferences; maintains Institut de recherches interculturelles, including 'Château de la Bûcherie' conference centre in Saint-Cyr-en-Arthies (France); produces publications on terminology, linguistics, architecture, oral dialogue, agronomy, mechanics. Specific tasks carried out by scientific commissions. Instrumental in setting up: Formation postuniversitaire interculturelle (FPI). Offers 'Humblet Prize' (every 2 years) to encourage works concerning the French language in general, or concerning relations between French speaking people, their exchanges, their similarities and their common actions.
