Established as a permanent organization from 1 Jan 1954 under the name European Airlines Research Bureau (EARB) -- Bureau d'études des compagnies européennes de navigation aérienne. Present name adopted 1973. Has been referred to in French and Spanish as Association des compagnies européennes de navigation aérienne -- Asociación de Compañias Aéreas Europeas. Registered in accordance with Belgian law. Ceased to exist, 31 Dec 2016.
Represent member interests to the institutions of the European Union, European Civil Aviation Conference and other institutional organizations involved in issues of interest; advance cooperation among members.
