History

2000, as Centre for Research on Europe, Christchurch at the University of Canterbury. Present name adopted 2002. Designated as a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in 2004.

Aims

As a multi-disciplinary research centre, bring together undergraduates, graduates, post-doctoral fellows and academics from a wide range of academic disciplines to research and study the European Union and Europe-related issues and topics, focusing on inclusive and policy-driven, melding academic work with practical requirements; provide a wider societal role and serve as a key element in the EU's outreach in New Zealand and the Pacific; raise critical awareness of the EU; inform government, the media and public opinion.
