History

1957, S-XS9256 - Nordic Building Research Meeting having been held since 1948. Formally constituted and Statutes adopted at 16th Meeting, 10-12 Sep 1975. Statutes amended: 25 Mar 1976; 5 Oct 1979; 13-14 Oct 1982. Also referred to as Nordic Council of Building Research and Cooperation Organization of the Nordic Building Research Institutes. No recent information.

Aims

Improve the quality and utility value of Nordic building research; help ensure best possible use of the Nordic countries resources; promote common interests within international organizations; act as a forum for exchange of information among members and other building research institutes and for discussion of technical, administrative and political questions relating to research; create a basis for direct cooperation between active building researchers; initiate the establishment of sub-committees for cooperation within selected areas; initiate and support common research projects.

Structure

Board (meets at least twice a year), consisting of one representative of each member organization. The research organization of the President is responsible for the Secretariat which is appointed for each triennial period.
