Promote the setting up of and international cooperation among national organizations; study on an international scale the means by which users may have at their disposal the carpets and other textile floor coverings most appropriate to their needs and tastes; extend knowledge, methods for use and applications of carpets and other textile floor coverings traded, manufactured or incorporated into raw materials by members and promote the use of members' services and equipment in this context; establish contacts, disseminate information, encourage or take part in initiatives relevant to carrying out the above; set up a classification system.
