Established 1946, as Standing Committee of the British Commonwealth Scientific Official Conference; renamed British Commonwealth Scientific Committee in 1958 and Commonwealth Scientific Committee in 1964. Present name adopted 1975. CSC Secretariat forms part of the Science and Technology Division of C-XC0376 - Commonwealth Secretariat.
Increase capabilities of individual nations to generate and use science and technology for their economic, social and environmental development through collaboration between member countries of the Commonwealth, by networking and promoting cooperative projects and information exchange on issues of scientific or technological concern.
