1989, as successor of Biomolecular Engineering Programme (BEP) (Apr 1982 - Mar 1986) and Biotechnology Action Programme (BAP) (1985-1989) of the E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC), for 1990-1994. Within the framework of the European Commission Directorate-General for Science, Research and Development (DG XII), Directorate: Life Sciences and Technologies. For the period 1994-1998, the 'Biotechnology Programme', within the 4th Framework Programme, replaces this specific project.
Foster transnational research and promote its catalytic effects for accelerating the production of biological data, materials and methods necessary for the optimal exploitation of useful organisms.
