The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Feb 1996, as follow-up to the UN International Conference on Population and Development, 5-13 Sep 1994, Cairo (Egypt). Also referred to as Task Force on Employment and Sustainable Livelihoods. One of previously 3 inter-agency task forces set up by E-XE4062 - United Nations System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB) to follow up conferences of A-XA3375 - United Nations (UN), the others being U-XF4424 - Inter-Agency Task Force on Basic Social Services for All (BSSA) and H-XK1524 - Inter-Agency Task Force on Enabling Environment for Economic and Social Development. No activities reported.

Aims

Develop major characteristics and indicators in the field, including impact of global and regional factors; identify key elements in future strategy; study impact of globalization and technological change; clarify relation between employment and sustainable livelihood.

Structure

Includes working group focusing on sustainable livelihoods and productive assets. Chair: B-XB2183 - ILO.
