1990. Registered in accordance with Belgian law. Also known as Jean Monnet European University Council -- Conseil universitaire Jean Monnet.
Assist the European Commission in scientific organization and management of the Jean Monnet Project which aims to facilitate the introduction of European integration studies in universities by means of start-up subsidies for Jean Monnet Centres of Excellence, Jean Monnet chairs, permanent courses, European modules and research grants; within this framework, reinforce cooperation among universities and professors specialists in the field of European integration.

General Assembly (annual). Council, comprising: 4 rectors or university presidents; 4 professors; one external personality nominated by these two organizations jointly. Bureau (Administrative Council), comprising President and at least one member each nominated by CLR and ECSA-Europe, assisted by a representative of the European Commission.
