The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History
1992, under the name of European Committee for Quality System Assessment and Certification, as a Committee within the H-XD2631 - European Organisation for Conformity Assessment (EOTC). Currently an effective European member of EOTC. Ceased to exist.
Aims
Facilitate coordination and cooperation in the field of quality and management system assessment and certification by providing harmonized rules; provide advice on implementation of these rules and on uniform interpretation of quality and management system standards; help to avoid multiple assessment and certification of the quality or management system of an organization and to achieve recognition of certificates issued by competent bodies, for example where quality system certification is a precondition for product certification; develop confidence in the certification carried out by competent bodies.
