The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1962, Moscow (USSR), by Organization for International Economic Cooperation (OIEC), as an organ of the previous Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA). No longer exists.

Aims

Carry out research and prepare proposals on major problems of the development and improvement of cooperation in the field of standardization aimed at raising technological level and quality of the products mutually delivered by CMEA member countries.

Activities

Conducts studies in the field of standardization with a view to resolving problems of economic, scientific and technical cooperation of CMEA member countries. Drafts proposals for delegations of the countries concerning the development of CMEA standards on new types of products with perspective for promoting specialization and co-production. Carries out scientific and technical experts' examination of draft programmes of standardization works and CMEA draft standards, norm control and editing of CMEA draft standards and preparing approved CMEA standards for publication. Prepares proposals on methodological support of standardization works and operation of the System for Quality Assessment and Certification of Mutually Delivered Products (CEPROSEV System). Carries out information support of standardization works as well as of the CEPROSEV System.
