Jan 1975, as International Rice Testing Program (IRTP) of E-XE2417 - International Rice Research Institute (IRRI).
Make the world's elite rice germplasm available for use by all rice scientists; provide rice scientists with the opportunity to assess performance of their breeding lines; identify genetic sources of resistance and tolerance; serve as a centre for information exchange on varietal interaction with environments; promote cooperation and interaction among rice scientists.
Based at IRRI, within the Plant Breeding, Genetics and Biotechnology Division. Receives external guidance from the Council of Rice Research for Asia which acts as the INGER Steering Committee.
