Founded 1 Jul 1992, Sao Paulo (Brazil), at Assembly of the former 'Evangelical Association for Theological Training, Brazil (AETTE)', which had existed since 1968. Constitution approved at founding meeting. In 1992 AETTE merged into AETAL.
Provide interchange between centres of theological education in Latin America; support development of member institutions and promote excellence in these programs of theological education in order to offer a holistic education which is committed to the church; recognize through a permanent commission of accreditation, biblical and theological institutions in Latin America that meet established requirements.
