The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1972. Teaching commenced at the Centre in 1977. No recent activity reported since 1990.

Aims

Disseminate Islamic principles and deepen the Islamic culture in Africa; elucidate and deepen Islamic faith among Muslims in Africa; train propagators for the Islamic cause; render services to Muslim communities in general and African communities in particular; cooperate with Islamic organizations and institutions with a view to spreading Islam and Islamic culture.

Structure

Board of Trustees, consisting of: representatives of the States which contributed to the establishment of the Centre; Director of the Centre; representatives of states which desire to contribute to the Centre subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees. Board of Directors, comprising: Director (acting as Chairman of the Board); Deputy Director for Education and Cultural Affairs; Deputy Director for the Administrative and Financial Affairs; 5 members nominated by the representatives of contributing states; heads of the four departments of the Centre.
