Aims
Develop international cooperation in the field of African studies through the organization of periodic sessions, study-groups, scholarly publications and the exchange of information between Africanists, thus providing a forum for the exposition and discussion of concepts and theories of significance for Africanist research; serve as a body to encourage Africans to have an ever-growing consciousness of their membership of the common human race and to express themselves in all fields of human endeavour.
