2008

History

Founded following agreement for its establishment by delegates from Asian countries during the IBS 2008 conference, 12-17 Oct 2008, Dalian (China). Preparative meetings for the formation of AFOB had been held in meetings prior to its official establishment: KSBB National Spring Meeting, Apr 27 2007, Incheon (Korea Rep); APBioChEC Meeting, Nov 5-7 2007, Taipei (Taiwan); KSBB National Spring Meeting, Apr 18 2008, Jeonju (Korea Rep).

Aims

Promote cooperation, on scientific grounds, between scientists from academia and industry in the Asian region, for general advancement of biotechnology as an interdisciplinary field of research and as a means of bringing scientific development to industrial level.
