History

1989, as Secretaries and Personal Assistants in the Community of Europe (SPACE). Previous constitution and byelaws approved 13-15 Mar 1997, Ålborg (Denmark). Current constitution and byelaws approved Apr 2009, Tallinn (Estonia). Subsequently changed title to Studies for Personal Assistants in the Countries of Europe (SPACE) -- Secrétaires et assistant/e/s de direction dans la Communauté européenne, when constitution was adapted, Sep 2001, Lyngby (Denmark). Adopted new title, SPACE - European Network for Languages, Business Studies and Hotel and Tourism Management, published in the 'Moniteur belge' of 27 Jun 2003. Also known as SPACE - European Network for Languages, Business Studies and Tourism. Adopted new title, 24 Jan 2011: SPACE - European Network for Languages and Business Studies. Registered in accordance with Belgian law, 31 Mar 1998.

Aims

Develop educational programmes; enhance entrepreneurship in education; develop a spirit for quality in teaching and a sense for research; make education more accessible to all; facilitate the bridging of the gap between higher education institutions and the business community and key stakeholders.
