The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History
Apr 1997, Montréal (Canada), under the aegis of D-XD9219 - European Confederation of International Trading Houses Associations (CITHA). Registered in accordance with the law of Canada.
Aims
Act as nodal agency for promoting interests of international trading houses; encourage development of national associations of international trading houses; examine issues, carry out studies and facilitate exchange of information on matters concerning international trade; encourage use of electronic commerce; assist in creation of transaction-oriented partnerships for speedy and efficient response to trade opportunities; increase awareness among national and international organizations of the importance of trading houses in world trade; create two-way communication channels between multilateral trade institutions and the trading community; establish and maintain contact with international financial institutions and promote participation of trading houses in their projects; promote exchange of best practices among member countries; help to build trust between trading houses and small manufacturers by acting as a catalyst for creating codes of conduct for trading houses in member countries; promote the business of members of national associations through opportunities for meetings and visits; assist in creating trading houses and associations of trading houses in countries where these do not exist; promote international trade training in cooperation with multilateral and national organizations.
