26 Apr 1966, Cannes (France), following a meeting of airline club representatives. Officially constituted Mar 1967.


Unite, coordinate, advise and arbitrate activity of airlines/interline clubs throughout the world; publicize, encourage, promote and extend the airlines / interlines clubs movement; unite members in friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding; encourage active participation in all activities demonstrating to the public the important contribution international airlines give for better understanding among the peoples of the world; introduce free discussions on all subjects of interest to civil and commercial aviation; promote air transportation as a mode of travel and promote better service to the travelling public; provide social and economic causes to the benefit of the airline industry and the community in general.

Holds regional meetings; carries out social, charitable projects and educational projects; organizes international events and sports tournaments; interline clubs organize local social functions. Social programmes have included: International Year of the Child; International Year of the Disabled; International Year of the Elderly; Special Olympics for the Handicapped; Save the Children Fund; Earthquake Relief Appeals. Youth Programme is designed for children of members to learn more about the world and it's people by visiting WACA families in various parts of the world.
