Dec 1995, as one of the 'European Network of Specialist Centres' of F-XF1447 - Open Partial Agreement on the Prevention of, Protection against and Organization of Relief in Major Natural and Technological Disasters (EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement), within the framework of the D-XD0435 - Council of Europe (CE). Previously referred to as Associate Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Seismic Hazards Assessment and Prevention.
Develop a unified strategy aiming at realization of a regional seismotectonic zonation and the evaluation of the risk and seismic risk in the countries of the Western Mediterranean.
