1973, as a standing Committee, by Conference of Ministers of E-XE4174 - United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). Reconstituted in 1981 to open participation in its deliberations to all ECA member States. Ceased to exist, 1992, when superseded by U-XF3524 - African Regional Conference for Science and Technology.
Assist ECA in the definition and periodic review of strategies and programmes in the area of science and technology for the development of the African region.
