History

Apr 1974, Los Angeles CA (USA), as International Coordinating Committee of Financial Analysts Associations (ICCFAA) -- Comité international de coordination des associations d'analystes financiers, as an informal consultative group of national and international societies of financial analysts and investment managers. Present name adopted May 1998.

Aims

Further development of the investment profession worldwide; work towards harmonization of investment decision making practices in different countries; enhance links with other organizations in the field.

Activities

Initiatives: development of an International Code of Ethics for use by investment professionals and institutions around the world; promotion of the highest ethical and professional standards of practice; promotion of education and training of analysts, including establishment of a common body of knowledge; development of common methodologies and practices of financial analysis and portfolio management; enhancement of global market efficiency, including allocation of capital, through appropriate generation and distribution of information regarding investment-related issues; enhancement of the statutes and influence of the investment management profession in relationship to other international professional and political organizations. Organizes meetings twice a year - once at annual conference of AIMR and once at EFFAS biennial conference or, if there is no EFFAS conference, at ASAF conference.
