1957, Freiburg-Breisgau (Germany FR), as a committee of U-XE2813 - Coordinating Committee on Veterinary Anatomical Nomenclature (CCVAN). Recast, Aug 1971, Mexico City (Mexico), as one of the nomenclature committees of B-XB3472 - World Association of Veterinary Anatomists (WAVA). Subsequently enlarged to become the present group of scientists involved in avian anatomical research but still a committee of CCVAN within the overall framework of WAVA. Dormant between editions of 'Handbook on Avian Anatomy'. No activities reported since 2010.
