History
1993, by Secretary-General of A-XA3375 - United Nations (UN), following General Assembly resolution 47/42 of 9 Dec 1992, and in accordance with the general peace agreement signed in Mozambique, Oct 1992. Ceased to exist following elections in Mozambique, Oct 1994.
Aims
Assist the United Nations in extending full support to the peace-building process in Mozambique; receive voluntary contributions and provide assistance in the implementation of Protocol III, Article 7, paragraph (b) of the peace agreement on provision of accommodation and transport and communication facilities for RENAMO to carry out political activities in all provincial capitals and other locations to the extent that resources permit.
