The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

1985 Paris France
History
1985, Paris (France), as a general-purpose computer network dedicated to universities, institutes of higher learning and academic and medical non commercial research institutions throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Merged, Oct 1994, with with U-XF0622 - Réseaux associés pour la recherche européenne (RARE), to form U-XF3368 - Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association (TERENA).
Aims
Stimulate cooperative research the day-to-day exchange of research information, and the execution of joint projects and publications.
