21 Jun 1946, by resolution 3 (II) of E-XE3377 - ECOSOC. Current procedures and criteria established by ECOSOC resolution 1996/31, 25 Jul 1996.
Aims
Consider applications for general and special consultative status and for listing on the Roster made by NGOs to ECOSOC and requests for change in status; make recommendations on these to ECOSOC; monitor the evolving relationships between NGOs and the United Nations; consider referrals from ECOSOC and its commissions on matters concerning NGOs.
