Established within the framework of U-XE1039 - Major Project in the Field of Education in Latin America and the Caribbean of E-XE9580 - UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Latin America and the Caribbean. Became independent on termination of PROMEDLAC, Mar 2001.
Aims
In cooperation with UNESCO Institute for Statistics, contribute to the collection, use and dissemination of educational information in the Latin American and Caribbean region, in the framework of international cooperation for development; support the Regional Project of Education; develop new patterns of data analysis which permit examination of educational policies adopted by countries from a regional perspective; contribute to improve production and analytical capabilities of statistics and indicators systems in the field of education in the countries of the region.
