Founded 24 Oct 1986, Detroit MI (USA), by Rabbi Sherwin T Wine, Yaakov Malkin and Yehuda Bauer, as International Federation of Secular Humanistic Jews. Restructured under present title in 2008. Registered in accordance with USA law. Ceased to exist 2014, with legacy website maintained by E-XE1899 - International Institute for Secular Humanistic Judaism (IISHJ).
Aims
Offer a non-theistic approach to Jewish identity and Jewish culture; promote rationality, personal autonomy, feminism, celebration of human strength and power and development of the pluralistic world with mutual understanding and cooperation among all religions and philosophies of life.
