Aug 1982, Bangkok (Thailand). Commenced operations Apr 1984. A project of the Secretariat of E-XE4956 - Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC). Ceased activities 1995.
Aims
Contribute to fisheries development by facilitating access to, exchange and use of fisheries information and data; share information resources and experience within and outside Southeast Asia; promote national self-reliance in fishery information within a framework of regional cooperation; provide an impetus to decision making and planning for fisheries development in the region; serve as a regional focal point by making available data and pertinent information on fisheries and related disciplines and technologies.
