History
1978, as Institute of Data Processing Management (IDPM), by merger of U-XN1666 - Data Processing Management Association (DPMA) and the Institute of Data Processing. Present name adopted at Extraordinary General Meeting, Apr 1997. UK Registered Charity. Ceased to exist when merged into British Computer Society (BCS), May 2013.
Aims
Further the cause of professionalism in the use of information systems through life-long learning; increase the awareness by the public, as individuals or as organizations, of the advances, implications and potential in information systems.
